Day.One
A Day.One event was held in Mexico City on November 19, 2015, organized by Sáas Lighting and Light Collective. The event consisted of a day dedicated to exploring daylight and color and took place in the workshop r and gardens of Casa Barragán, the home of the renowned Mexican architect and lover of daylight, Luis Barragán.
Day one was an idea to create an alternative light festival. The world is full of festivals… Lyon, Frankfurt, Sydney, Singapore, Montreal, Turin, Amsterdam, York, Durham, etc. They all take place at night and focus on artificial light, so we thought it was time to turn things around and make a festival that takes place during the day.
The plan for the event was to carry out a daylight installation, architectural visits, an international space experience, an exhibition of manufacturers' technologies, a series of talks, video shows, and group workshops.
Despite the huge effort, we didn't get the full funding for the entire event so Day. One remains a conceptual festival. We hope that soon we can resume this project.
